Boil water and drain it completely for 3 times to get rid of any initial dirt or dust from the inside.
Dry thoroughly after each use. It is recommended to add a small amount of water after use and place the kettle over a low heat until all the excess water has evaporated.
Please note that iron kettles may rust slightly due to natural oxidisation. It will not have any negative influence on health. A slight film will appear inside after approximately one month, which can prevent rust. Please do not scrub it off.
If there are red spots inside the kettle and become more visible, please use a soft sponge to gently clean it. After that boil water with Sencha tea leaves, and continue this on low heat for 30 minutes. Sencha is perfect for clean ironwares, you can use it to clean the exterior surface with a soft cloth as well.
*Iron kettles do not have enamel coating inside and they are only designed for boiling water. Please do not use them to brewing tea.
